VOICE OF YOUTH

In a quick take of spot interviews with the youth, SINDHISHAAN found students in no mood to allow the deletion of ‘Sindh’.

MEETA MOTWANI :

BHAKTI LEDWANI :

It shouldn’t be deleted as it’s a part of our origin.

We always believe and will continue to believe in unity in diversity.

RIMPIE PANJWANI :

ROSHNI SAKHRANI :

For so many years it wasn’t deleted then why now? Sindhis have always been treated equally then why a sudden change.

We should be considerate to the community who suffered the most during partition and became stateless.

LILLY VARGHESE :

RUCHIT PANCHAMIA :

When Sindhis have never behaved indifferent hence why this type of foreign behaviour towards them now?

It shouldn’t be deleted as we are studying in Sindhi College when we didn’t suffer studying here then why remove Sindh.

AMIT SACHDEV :

RUCHITA GANDHI :

The deletion of the word ‘Sindh’ from the national anthem is an insult to all the Sindhis. All should realize that Sindhis left their land to come to India and became Indians and never looked back. Therefore, we should not delete the word Sindh from the National Anthem.

Sindhis have always generously contributed to prosperity of India and have never been a source of disharmony. Agreed Sindh is now a part of Pakistan but it will always remain in the heart of Indians.

SHAHID LOKHANDWALA :

KHUSHAL LALWANI :

The removal of the word ‘Sindh’ from the national anthem is the most stupid thing that can happen, since ‘Sindh’ has always been there from the starting. We cannot think of removing it.

I think it is of no use removing the word ‘Sindh’ after 57 years of independence. Sindh is the origin of Sindhis and one cannot just remove the word which depicts pride and culture of Sindhis. It is of no use. I do not think they should remove it.

CHANDNI MAKHIJA :

ROHAN MORADIAN :

I am strongly opposed to the deletion of the word ‘Sindh’ from the national anthem. I believe that Sindhis form a major part of our country today and we represent our culture which we have imbibed from our forefathers who have come from ‘Sindh’. Deleting the word would strongly harm the sentiments of a large number of Sindhis including me, in our country.

Sindhis are a part of the Indian culture. You cannot remove ‘Sindh’ from the national anthem. It is like removing the identity for an entire race out of our country’s soul.

VIJAY S CHHADVA :

POOJA KHUBCHANDANI :

According to me, the deletion of the word ‘Sindh’ is a major setback for we Indians because although it is not a part of India now, but we cannot forget the sacrifice made by the people during partition. You cannot forget the sacrifices and be inhuman.

I am totally against the deletion of the word Sindh from the national anthem as it will hurt the sentiments of millions of Sindhis in India. As India is a secular country there should not be any differentiation made among people of different religions.

NAMRATA VALECHA :

VIKRAM PASRICHA :

Sindhis are a part of this secular country. They form the core of the society. As any part if removed from the body may it even be the nail gives pain which though grows again. So how can a community which is such an important part of this country be not mentioned in the national anthem.

The deletion of the word ‘Sindh’ is highly unjust because Sindhis have been living in this country for innumerable number of years and the worst apart is that they don’t even have a state. I think instead deleting the word, they should be given a separate state.

VANITA MIRCHANDANI :

SRILAXMI CHHABRIA :

Sindhis have always contributed to the well being of India. Sindhis at present hold the highest positions in the country Sindhis were in the forefront to build up India thinking it their own and today the same country wants to insult their efforts in making India what it is today.

In the first place the word Sindh does not refer to any state as Sindhis do not possess a state any longer. It only represents Sindhis settled in India. At a time when relations are good with Pakistan such issues would only give rise to communal riots. So such petty issues like deletion of a five letter word should not be discussed when the world is still recouping from the Tsunami tragedy.

AARTI KHAITAN :

After 58 years of freedom from the British, Sindhis did not get happiness but after 15.8.47 experienced harshest days of their life due to partition. Today people of India want to hurt the feelings of the Sindhi community who thought that India was their motherland. The word ‘Sindh’ in any case refers to Sindhi culture in the country & should not be deleted from the national anthem.

SHWETA KUKREJA :

The word ‘Sindh’ should not be deleted from the national anthem because Sindh even though is not a part of India Sindhis have recognition with the place, so it would be utter injustice to take up such matters and hurt the sentiments of the Sindhis community.

DEPAK TOLANI :

National anthem does not inform the people about the states involved in the union but indicates the cultures in the union. If the word ‘Sindh’ is deleted from the national anthem justice would have it to include and present all states in India in our anthem. This would mean injustice to Sindh and other states.

NAMRATA GIDWANI :

It would be rather insane to hurt the sentiments of a community. It would be insulting the sacrifice made by Sindhis during the partition.
